Asset Based Loans

A business loan secured by collateral assets. In most cases, the collateral is accounts receivable, inventory, and/or equipment, and in some cases real estate.

  • Advance of 70 – 95% of receivables
  • Advance of 40 – 85% of eligible inventory or liquidation value. This also includes inventory in transit
  • Rates vary by industry and strength of the company’s financials
  • For businesses selling to other businesses (B2B)
  • Annual sales of $3 million to $2 billion required
  • Advance of 70 - 85% of equipment liquidation value
Accounts Receivable Credit Line

A specific category of asset-based loans in which a company uses its receivables as collateral in a financing agreement

  • Advance of 70 – 95% of receivables
  • A business does not sell their receivables; rather, they are used as collateral
  • Most international receivables need to be insured
  • Invoices over 90 days past due are ineligible
Factoring

The transaction of factoring is the very simple process of selling your company’s accounts receivable in order to secure an inflow of cash that is determined by the value of the receivables.

  • Domestic and international factoring
  • Advance rate of 80% – 90% on eligible receivables
  • Most international receivables need to be insured
  • This is not a loan and it will not show up on your balance sheet
  • Single debtor factoring and forfeiting is also available
Inventory Financing

A specific category of asset-based lending where inventory is used as collateral. This type of loan differs highly by industry and type of inventory.

  • The inventory will need to be appraised
  • The advance rate can vary from 40 – 85% of liquidation value of the inventory
  • For businesses with little or no accounts receivable
  • Slow-moving or inventory more than a year old is ineligible
Purchase Order Financing

A business may not always have enough cash to buy the supplies needed to complete an order. With purchase order financing, a company will be able to pay the supplier for the goods needed to complete an order.

  • Advance rate of 50% – 100% of purchase order cost of goods

  • This is a loan tied to specific inventory and purchase orders
Exim Working Capital Loans

Exim Bank's working capital financing enables U.S. exporters to obtain loans that facilitate the export of goods or services. These working capital loans, made by commercial lenders and backed by our guarantee, provide you with the liquidity to accept new business, grow your international sales and compete more effectively in the international marketplace.

  • Advance rate up to 75% on inventory (including work in process)
  • Advance rate up to 90% of eligible international accounts receivable
  • Must be shipped from the United States
  • Products must have at least 50% U.S. content
  • Exim Bank generally guarantees 90% of the loan, including principal and interest
OPIC Term Loans

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) helps American businesses invest in emerging markets. OPIC provides businesses with the tools to manage the risks associated with foreign direct investment.

  • Terms from 7 – 12 years
Merchant Cash Advance (MCA)

These advances are based on revenue and provide businesses with funding in as few as three days. Lenders automatically deduct a fixed fee from a business’ bank account until the advance is repaid.

  • Typically 15% – 25% of revenue
  • Terms from 3 – 18 months
  • Can fund up to a 5th position
  • Credit card advances are also available
  • Signers must own at least 50% of the business and have a 500+ credit score
  • NSFs are no problem
